Bali: Bali Safari and Marine Park

After breakfast and beach click here, we went to the ZOO directly!

People will usually go for its beach, Tanah lot or other tourist attractions in Bali..

It is rare..or in fact,

I never heard about anyone visiting the zoo when they went to Bali..

Nah! We did! We went to Bali Safari and Marine Park!

Initially, we plan to visit the Tanah Lot,

however, the journey would take about an hour from our place

and according to Lia, there is nothing much we can do there...

+ I heard about the couple curse..Hm...

Here's the story...

There was an old folks tale about a princess

who was abandoned by her prince on the island.

They were supposed to get married.

However, instead, they *do that* before marriage #naughty.

After ahem, the prince abandon her and broke his promise..

Then, she put a curse on unmarried couples who visits the island.

The End.

Simple and easy to understand right? Haha!

Surprisingly the zoo was pretty clean and I was quite amazed! =D

The ticket was Rp 135.000 about S$20 per person.

It was quite spacious as well!

It took us about 4 hours to explore the whole zoo..

Piranha!!! Red piranha..!

Fresh Water Aquarium

Fresh Water Aquarium is the only place that you can see thousand of fish with any shapes that come from many rivers around the world. There are almost 40 species of fish in this area that was opened in late 2009. Combining biodiversity themed dense vegetation, you can see super red arowana the famous fish from Kalimantan. You can also have closer encounter with the white tip shark in our touch pool.

The moment that you should overlook is the feeding time. We will show you how the furious piranha, the stunning yellow fish even the almost 3 meter in length of Arapaima get feed by the keeper.

Watch Piranha Feeding, daily at 10.30 am & 04.00 pm

We spotted rainbow! =D

Leopard lazyin' around!

Kampung Bali!

A picture of us

Random statue we found while walking around the zoo..

Ehya we took two times of train that day..

From the ticket counter or lobby area we took a train and go into the zoo...

and then, we took another train for the safari journey.

The visitors were mostly foreigner or Caucasian..

Some traditional instruments of Indonesia found!

As any other day, it was a HOT day!

Little parrot on his background! lol

Looks like it's on his shoulder yea?

We're in Thailand?

It's the elephant area!

We're in Kampung Gajah!

Kampung Gajah (Elephant Village)

Elephant Village or Kampung Gajah is a sanctuary for retired forestry and other working elephants. Here, visitors can observe the wonderful care these majestic creatures receive and can even watch them playing.

Ardy bought a bunch of Banana and we fed the elephant! =D

Hahaha! this lil boy is cute! He was very friendly toward us...

I think it's because I have his favorite banana on my had yeah?

Next up we went to on board the safari journey!

About Safari Journey

Our exciting and adventurous Safari Journey is one of our signature activities here at the park that takes the visitor through the habitats of Indonesia, India and Africa.

Coming face to face with many animals, the visitor has the opportunity to see our wildlife living naturally all together in these open range regions and you get to take as many photos as you like, all from the comfort and safety of your air conditioned safari tram, with your very own personal guide!

Get 'up close' and personal with the animals as they approach your window side. Take pleasure when you plunge into 'Lake Manyara' where the Hippopotamus hang out all day to keep cool, get close enough to count the zebra's stripes, enter the Lion's den if you dare! Do your best to spot the tigers hiding in the dense jungle and be captivated by the enormous size of our male White Rhinoceros named Nelson.

We proudly invite you to come and experience the riches of wildlife right here at the Bali Safari & Marine Park's beautifully landscaped natural habitat setting that is home to our many magnificent animals. Your personal Safari guides are awaiting your arrival, so please be sure to bring all your wildlife questions along with you and our guides will be happy to help you learn more about the wonderful world of animals the next time you visit us here at the park.

Last but not least, the white lion!

Stroll along the road that leads you to the realm of Ranthambore, a recreation of an ancient Indian fort in the city of Rajashtan. Surrounded by the fortress relics, Ranthambore is the home of the majestic White Tigers that live in their truest habitat. Encounter the mighty beasts on ground or underwater.

Ranthambore is a national park and tiger reserve in Rajasthan state of western India. It is named for the historic Ranthambore fortress, which lies within the national park. The park covers an area of 392 km2, famous for its Bengal Tiger population, and is one of India's Project Tiger reserves, which got its status as a National Park in 1981. In Bali Safari & Marine Park, we use this abandoned Fort concept to be the home of our beautiful White Tigers and Reptiles where we can get up-close and watch them swim.

Luckily they weren't sleeping! =D

See that? we're so close to them!!

Our distance was just a piece of glass!
